Bulls see off Bantams

Hereford gained only their second win of the season with a 2-0 victory over fellow strugglers Bradford at Edgar Street.

Bradford had skipper Michael Flynn dismissed 11 minutes from time when he got a second booking for a foul on Harry Pell and from the resulting free-kick Steven Leslie fired Hereford in front before Tom Barkhuizen wrapped up the points.

The visitors started well with Craig Fagan heading a cross from Jamie Devitt over the crossbar in the second minute.

Flynn also rifled a 25-yard shot wide of the Hereford post in a counter attack.

Hereford eventually responded with Leslie drilling a 30-yard drive against the Bradford crossbar before Marcel Seip cleared the rebound.

In another counter attack Fagan had a gilt-edged chance to break the deadlock, but guided his shot over the crossbar with only goalkeeper David Cornell to beat.

Back came Hereford with Pell heading into the arms of Duke while Joe Heath headed wide from close range.

Cornell, however, was forced to save from Devitt as Bradford swept forward before the break.

After the restart Hereford created several chances before the deadlock was eventually broken by Leslie whose powerful free-kick gave Matt Duke no chance in the Bradford goalmouth.

Although Bradford tried hard to get back onto level terms, Hereford struck again with two minutes remaining.

Barkhuizen latched onto a loose ball in front of goal before beating Duke from six yards.
