Bradford City manager Nicky Law was very pleased with the victory at Cardiff City and also the way in which his side had played.
"I knew they would come at us but my defence coped very comfortably with them," he said after the match.
"The two goals were fantastic and in winning a game it is always good to do it in style.
"If they had been scored in the Premiership they would have been played on TV over and over again.
"It was always going to be difficult coming to Cardiff but this is a very positive result."
Law's men took the lead in only the sixth minute when a free kick was only partially cleared by the Cardiff defence.
The ball ran out to Andy Gray 20 yards out from goal and he crashed a shot past a helpless Neil Alexander into the corner of the net.
Chances were few and far between for both sides with Cardiff's new £2million striker Alan Lee busy up front.
However, the game was settled in the 70th minute when the visitors repeated the dose.
Substitute Lewis Emanuel was given time to rocket a shot into the corner of the net from fully 30 yards.
Although Cardiff boss Lennie Lawrence brought on new signing Richard Langley and play-off hero Andy Campbell, the Bluebirds were unable to reduce the deficit.
Lawrence felt that his side were a little unlucky.
"At the end of the day they have mugged us on the break and we were not good enough in either penalty box.
"We have to do much better to survive in this division and although I am not panicking I am disappointed.
"We must learn fast or this could happen to us again. No goals and only one point is obviously not good enough."
