Bradford 2-1 Aldershot- Match Report

David Syers scored a dramatic last-gasp winner to give Bradford a 2-1 victory over Aldershot which all but ends their relegation worries.

There was just a minute of normal time remaining when midfielder Syers headed the ball into the net from Gareth Evans' corner to settle the nerves of the home fans on an anxious day at Valley Parade.

The result leaves Bradford six points above the drop zone with just two matches to play.

Winger Omar Daley gave the home side a great start with a goal after four minutes - a superb 25-yard shot which curled into the far corner of the net.

James Hanson then came close to increasing the home side`s lead after 27 minutes only to see his shot hit a post.

However Aldershot were always dangerous on the break and, after Alex Rodman hit the woodwork, the visitors deservedly equalised with a smart low shot from Peter Vincenti after Rodman's shot was blocked.

There were narrow escapes at both ends bore Syers' timely late goal ended Bradford's run of four matches without a win as they took a giant step towards ensuring their League Two survival.
