The midfielder has agreed to a deal which ends in the summer of 2006. It is only four months ago that he almost quit the club.
The 23-year-old was linked with Chester City last July amid rumours he no longer had a future at Valley Parade.
But he has since found a new lease of life under manager Colin Todd, cementing a place in the first team.
