Paul Jewell's Wigan Athletic offered to stump up the cash -- just days before the transfer deadline.
But the proposed move is a non-starter as the Bantams are not prepared to sell the 36-year-old.
The striker, who has bagged six goals in his last three games, is under contract at Valley Parade until next spring.
Meanwhile, former City player Andy Gray marked his debut for Sunderland with a goal on the opening day of the Premiership season.
He completed his switch from Sheffield United earlier this month in a deal that broke the seven-figure barrier.
