The Bantams are currently searching for a long-term replacement for Colin Todd, with defender David Wetherall currently steadying the ship after the sacking of his former boss.
A host of names have been linked with the Valley Parade post, including Sheffield United assistant Stuart McCall and former Bradford boss Frank Stapleton.
However, Waddle - who made 29 appearances for The Bantams in the 1996/1997 season - has now put his name forward.
"They know where I am if they want to speak to me," said Waddle in the Daily Mirror.
Bradford are just two points above the relegation zone in League Two following Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Crewe.
