Taylor upbeat despite defeat

Ross Draper struck the only goal of the game midway through the first half at Valley Parade.

"To be fair to Macclesfield they are a good team and the last thing you need is to go a goal down against them because they pack their defence and break out quickly," said Taylor. "I thought in the second half we were terrific and with a bit of luck we would have scored. It is frustrating that we didn't score but the performance was encouraging.

"We have lost three matches in a row but the performances have been really good and it is very important that the players don't drop their heads.

"It is good we have a home match on Tuesday against Accrington. The players will look forward to it and I just hope we have a bit more luck in front of goal.

"This defeat should not affect the players' confidence. I don't expect them to be over the moon because we have lost 1-0, but I do expect them to be pleased with the way they played."
