Taylor not concerned with Speight fitness

Bradford manager Peter Taylor expects summer signing Jake Speight to be close to full fitness when he finally teams up with the squad. The 24-year-old, handed a 12-week prison sentence after pleading guilty to assault, has been released following an appeal. The punishment has been suspended for 18 months and he must now do 100 hours of community work. Taylor told the club's official website: "It won't be a problem. I thought he would miss six weeks but it's been eight days and he's a very fit lad anyway. "We have taken disciplinary action with him. He knows that and has accepted that 100%." Speight's representative Mark Croft added: "Jake looks as fit as a fiddle. He can't wait to start delivering for Bradford City." The Bantams paid Mansfield £25,000 earlier this month to sign Speight, who had failed to notify either the Stags or his new employers about his pending court case.
