"They have been fantastic so far since I've been in charge," he told the Telegraph & Argus.

"All I would ask is that they keep up that level of support for the games that are left because it does make a difference.

"They can see that the players are giving it their best shot and people are prepared to forgive a hell of a lot when that's the case.

"We are trying to up the work-rate of the team and I'm sure the supporters have appreciated that.

"Brighton is going to be another huge match for us and we all know what is at stake. We know our fans are going to be there getting right behind us.

"It was great to see them at Bournemouth last Saturday and they were certainly in really good voice.

"I'd love to see more of the same against Brighton and hopefully this time we'll be able to reward their support with three points instead of one."
