"We can't afford to feel sorry for ourselves and we won't. The attitude is good, whatever people might say, and the lads worked their backsides off to try and get something from Saturday.

"It was always going to be difficult once we went down to ten men. We couldn't get any real penetration but we had to be disciplined because we didn't want to go 4-0 or 5-0, which could have been the case otherwise.

"We didn't sustain a lot of pressure on their back four or goalkeeper but I felt we always looked capable.

"I felt the sending-off was harsh and the booking Eddie Johnson got was diabolical - even Ronnie Jepson, their manager, agreed he'd won the ball."

"I am very pleased with the three points but I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get another goal or two to make it a bit easy for ourselves. At one-nil and against ten men, you've seen it a million times, it can be difficult.

"As the game goes on, you fear the worst, especially as we had umpteen chances and we got plenty of balls into the box, but it wasn't to be. Full credit to the lads though, they kept in there and dug in to get a worthy three points. We take each game as it comes. Everyone knows that it has been a difficult season for us but if we get another three or four wins on the board, then we can start looking up there."
