Lonely feeling for Jackson

Shaun Miller`s opener for Crewe was cancelled out by Jake Speight, but three goals from the visitors in a 13-minute spell before half-time decided the clash.

Miller`s second was added to by Clayton Donaldson`s 28th league goal of the season, leaving Danny Shelley to add a fourth. Shelley then completed the scoring in the 67th minute to make it 5-1 to the Alex.

Jackson said: "When I came to the club the most important thing was to keep us in this division, but this has taken the shine off anything we have done."

He added: "The last 45 minutes when you are standing in the dugout as I was and you are losing 4-1 and then 5-1 at home is a very lonely experience and a horrible thing."

Jackson took over from Peter Taylor as interim manager at the end of February and is still waiting to see if he will be confirmed as permanent manager. But he said: "The retained list will be out on Monday and I am planning pre-season - someone has to be here to do that. As regards my own future, unless I am told otherwise I will be coming into the club day in and day out."
