And the City boss was delighted for new boy Michael Branch, who grabbed the Bantams last-minute equaliser.

"I think we have to be pleased with his performance," he said after the 2-2 draw.

"I think we would have considered ourselves unlucky if we had lost because overall we had the better chances.

"Paul Evans hit the post, we missed a penalty and had five good chances in the first half."

"At 2-0 I thought, 'here we go', but we kept going and got our reward. Our fitness levels were great. There was a good tempo to the game and both teams were excellent.

"We were second best to some of the second balls for large parts of the game, but Gary Holt and Damien Francis are very good players and caused us problems.

"We might have been a little apprehensive at times but late on we had a real go at it, got the ball down and we were positive and believed in ourselves."

Michael Branch has great pace and he will take one or two months to get back into it.

"He was the forgotten man at Wolves and now he has a chance to show what he can do. He needs to rebuild his confidence and that's what we hope he can do now. I think he will prove to be a good signing for us."
