Hibbert extends loan spell

Hibbert is not garanteed a start at City after Todd signed Bruce Dyer and Billy Paynter.

But instead of returning to Preston Hibbert was to fight for a place in the team.

Talking to the Telegraph & Argus Todd said: "I could quite easily have been selfish and done the agreement anyway but having brought in two new strikers before the deadline I wanted to explain the situation to David. It was only right to be honest with him.

"I told him there was going to be competition but he was still part of it if that's what he wanted. David said he wasn't frightened of the challenge and would love to stay.

"Some people could have given it up and taken the easy option but David isn't like that.

"We haven't had enough competition for places in certain areas but we've got that up front now which is what we need."

A player moving out is Ben Muirhead. He is joining Rochdale on a months loan.
