Bantams escape FA charge

But the club have been warned future fixtures at Valley Parade will be monitored and the Bantams face disciplinary action should further incidents be reported.

An FA statement said: "The Football Association does not propose to take any further action on this occasion.

"However, please be advised that we may consider disciplinary action against the club if further reports of spectator misconduct should be received and the association reserves the right to refer to the current matter in such circumstances."

A cigarette lighter and a 50p coin were hurled during Bradford's draw with Accrington in November, a tennis ball was thrown against Chesterfield and in the last home match a bottle of water was lobbed after City had been awarded their first-half penalty against Stockport.

Meanwhile, David Syers has been handed a new one-year contract after the midfielder reached the required number of 20 starts this season to trigger a clause in his current deal which expires in the summer.
