Bradford trio hoping to face Plymouth

Bradford trio Zavon Hines, Stephen Darby and James Meredith are all in a race to be fit for the home game with Plymouth.

Striker Hines (ankle) and defenders Darby (hip) and Meredith (groin) all missed the weekend home defeat to Exeter and remain doubtful, but manager Phil Parkinson is hoping at least one will make it.

New loan signing Tom Naylor, who arrived from Derby last week in time to make his debut at the weekend, could continue in the back four alongside another loanee, Sunderland defender John Egan, who made his third start for the club against Exeter.

Winger Garry Thompson, striker Alan Connell and midfielder Ricky Ravenhill are all pushing for recalls, while winger Kyel Reid is still struggling with a long-term groin injury.

Luke Oliver (Achilles) has been ruled out for the rest of the season, while fellow central defender Andrew Davies (knee) will be sidelined until the spring.

Plymouth will be without captain Darren Purse after he was sent off in the 3-0 defeat at Fleetwood on Saturday.

The 35-year-old received a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident with Fleetwood's Jamie McGuire and will miss the next three games.

Maxime Blanchard is expected to return at the heart of the Pilgrims' defence having previously deputised for Purse when the former Cardiff man was out with a toe injury.

Meanwhile, experienced midfielder Paul Wotton has stepped up his recovery from a back operation and is targeting a return to action during the busy Christmas period having not featured since mid-September.

Carl Fletcher's Argyle have not won since October 20, a run which has seen them slip to 19th in League Two.
